Hi! Welcome to the blog!

I'm Katie, a wife, mother, and nurse, among other things. This blog will be a place where I can share things about my family, explore my interests, and connect with others. If you're reading this, leave a comment! I'd love to get to know you.

I'll start off with 5 facts about me:

  1. I love blankets. I have way too many, according to my husband, but I always want to buy new ones. The softer and fluffier the better. When snuggling with a blanket, I have to have my feet completely wrapped up and tucked in, like a cocoon. I'm pretty sure my husband dreads when the weather starts getting cooler, since I drag blankets out of all my hiding spots and add about 3 comforters to our bed.
  2. Purple is my favorite color.
  3. When I was younger, and all through high school, I absolutely did not want to be a nurse. I wanted nothing to do with the medical field. It's funny how life gives you opportunities and experiences and shows you exactly what you think you never wanted. Many years later, and many years of study, and here I am. I love caring for others.
  4. I love to read. Primarily fiction. My favorite book often changes, based on my mood and what I've read most recently, but right now my favorite is Life Expectancy by Dean Koontz. (Of course I also love The Enoc Tales series, written by my husband. My favorite of that series is currently Tale of the Twin City Vampires, by Edison T. Crux. You should check it out.)
  5. My husband says I have a wandering soul. I'd have to agree. If it's not wandering, it's restless. I want to go different places, see different things, try different things, look at houses and destinations...I'm very much a wandering soul. There is just so much to see and do. My husband helps keep me grounded to reality, but also indulges my wandering needs. He helps keep me balanced.
So, there you have it - 5 facts about me! I'd love to hear from you. Feel free to leave a comment, or contact me at thecruxfiles@gmail.com
