Where have I been?

I feel like I blinked, and all of a sudden it's the end of April. Where did the time go??

Well, we celebrated Christmas. For the most part it was pretty relaxed, just us celebrating. Edison took the kids to the Christmas celebration for my side of the family, since I had to work. And we got together with various other family members during the month - I find it's nicer to have small gatherings, that way you can really have some quality time with the people you're celebrating with. Big celebrations can be fun once in awhile, but I prefer a small group.

Somewhere around Christmas, we started realizing that my grandparents, who still live on their own and take care of themselves, were slowing down. We had many discussions, and realized that we wanted to help them as they age and decline physically. So, we started visiting them more often, cooking them meals, that kind of thing. We spent 3 months nearly full time with them as we helped them to appointments, and with medications, and other assorted things.

We're still in the process of getting our house in order, and we're also working on downsizing & spring cleaning. I'm a huge fan of living without a ton of "stuff", but our house has gotten out of control! I feel like the walls are closing in on us. We have too much. So we've been working at downsizing and donating a ton of (still really nice) things - we just don't need it. So that's been our current project.

Edison & I are both working to build online businesses as well, and I'm still working full time as a nurse. We are working toward a goal that hopefully we can achieve in the near future. More on that when we get closer to it.

This next month is a busy one coming up - Alex is turning 6 years old! We're going to celebrate in the Dells. Then Mother's Day, then my birthday. So it should be a fun, busy month. Where I probably won't get much downsizing/donating done. Anyone want to come clean out my house?

So that's kind of where we've been. Working, helping family, and a few fun trips to the Discovery Center.
